Is Backstage recoreded in the ITV Wales News studio, or an external/other location?

If it is filmed at their studio, another great example of how versatile and different they can make that studio with a bit of creative thinking. If not, where is it?

Looks like the standard studio set, redessed. The wood laminate podium is the giveaway, under the rug. It's cleaver and effective use of the space.

Baffles me that they can do great things and demonstrate craft skills on these non news shows, but the core Wales at Six is to my eyes the worse produced and directed nations and regions show on ITV.

With solo presentation, you really need to keep the pace with shot changes and movement to cover the segues between stories (and careful producing to ensure long blocks of presenter invison aren't back to back)

There's lots if individual talent there, but something combined just isn't right - how can a news programme in 2024 have the studio production values of 1982 Report Wales

No extended bulletins today from ITV Wales, BBC Wales or Newyddion S4C, despite the Welsh Parliament voting in favour in a vote of no confidence in the Welsh First Minister Vaughan Gething. All three programmes were live in the Senedd, with Jonathan Hill, Jennifer Jones and Rhodri Llewelyn hosting or co-hosting their respective programmes from Cardiff Bay.

I wasn't really expecting much as the result has not resulted in any resignation, but the no extensions are a little frustrating, especially with party election broadcasts shortening the length of the shows. The BBC Wales broadcast was a little frustrating, with only enough time for two or three questions to both opposition leaders. Hopefully all sides will have a more ample time in tonight's BBC Wales Live to voice their views. ITV Wales' programme only had the two stories, that and D-Day, so there interviews were a bit more substantial.

Interesting endcard on this video, saying that Newyddion is a BBC Wales production. Interesting in the way the app and social media are usually seperate from BBC Wales and their own BBC Cymru Fyw app.
